What is Fly-Inn Safari?

This is a type of Safari that includes the use of small aircraft across African Savannah. All transfers are done by Air aiming to maximise your travelling time, having more time in Game viewing and less time in transfers. The use of a plane means you can get to some of the remotest attractions and landscapes. A transfer while you enjoy the bird eye view of Vast Plains and Mountains. It’s a unique experience with aircraft often flying low, allowing passengers to spot wildlife from above.

Where to visit on Fly-inn Safari?

Tanzania is a big country with scattered attractions, and some of the attractions like Serengeti National Parks and Selous Game Reserve are bigger than Belgium. They even host more than 1 airstrip to make the remote and unvisited location quick to visit. Check our top destination below for Fly-in Safaris,

Central Serengeti – Seonera Airstrip

This is the most visited part of the Great Serengeti. Seronera Valley supports large concentrations of animals more than any place in Serengeti. The part is also famous for big cats and wild actions. You can book a flight from anywhere in Tanzania to the Seronera Airstrip.

2. Northern Serengeti – Kogatende Airstrip

This is an important corridor for Great Migration. Comparing to Central Serengeti this is less visited hence it’s quiet and untouched. With the use of Kogatende Airstrip you can access the remotest part of the park where millions of wildebeest and zebra are scattered annually.

3. Eastern Serengeti – Seronera Airstrip

It’s one of the more remote regions of the park. There is more population of Cheetah here than anywhere in Africa, due to Kopjes rocks which sometimes attract big cats. This is also an important migration path as December to May plains become lush greens which attracts millions of Wildebeest and Zebras. The close Airstrip in East Serengeti is Seronera Airstrip.

4. Selous (Nyerere) Game reserve – Matembwe Airstrip

This is among the largest wild reserves in the world. It’s a few places in Africa where you can do boat safari, watching the animals drinking water at the banks of the Rufiji river. It’s also the best place to plan a walking safari with armed rangers. You can fly to Selou through Matembwe Airstrip.

5. Ruaha National Park – Msembe Airstrip

This is one of the untouched jewels of the Tanzania southern circuit, its largest park in Africa with plenty of larger mammals and predators. This is also a bird paradise as during the wet season from January to April the bush becomes lush and green and many migratory birds arrive. You can fly to this park through Msembe Airstrip.

6. Mikumi National Park – Kikoboga Airstrip

It is a huge natural area and is linked with the Selous meaning there is quite a bit of animal migration between the two locations and a huge overlap in terms of what type of animal you can find. Don’t expect the same numbers as the Serengeti, but you will spot a huge variety of animals. There is a big chance to spot lion and hyena.

Tanzanite is Gem rarer than Diamond, it was discovered by Tanzanian Tribesman named Ali Joyawatu back in 1967 in Mererani Hills near Mount Kilimanjaro and Kilimanjaro International Airport. Colors range from an almost light blue to a deep midnight blue. Add to this blue a few flashes of red and touches of violet and purple. In general, tanzanites showing more blue are valued higher than those showing more violet.

Tanzanite History

Tanzanite was discovered back in 1967 by the tribesman named Ali Joyawatu and at that time was controlled by Tiffany & Company who gave it its name and were the first true marketers of the gemstone. since from discovery up to date the gemstones has been through a lot of political and historical stories we can talk about. after September 11 stone was implicated as a funding source to Al Qaeda thus makes a drop in prices until State Department / CIA report was released in early 2002 cleared the industry of any links to Al Qaeda and Tanzanite rose again.

5.CHEMKA HOTSPRING- KIKULETWA VILLAGE

Impressive place to visit, its about 70Km from Arusha, It’s remote place where people relax and swim. this is simply little oasis. So don’t forget your swimsuits and towels, you even get a special free spa treatment of the little fishes in the hot spring. They love to eat your death skin and make your skin smooth and soft. remember the water source is from the Kilimanjaro Mountain itself.

Hot Springs

6.SOKO KUU ARUSHA MAIN FOOD MARKET

When you are in Arusha, this is The Central Market, one of the best places to get a glimpse of Tanzanian life. Market vendors sell anything from vegetables and fruits, handmade crafts and usual things. As with other markets in Africa, if you are looking for something specific, beware of the guys referred to as “Papasi”. The word means ‘parasite’ in Swahili and it’s an accurate description; these seemingly helpful guide / translators might be able to show you where to get what need but he’ll also intimidate the vendor into jacking up the price considerably so he gets a hefty commission. Without you being the wiser, he’ll probably also demand a tip once the job is done.

Main products in Arusha Markets

7. Merani Tanzanites Mining Area

The Mererani tanzanite mines is a region 2km wide and 50 km long. It is situated in the Mererani Slopes, on the inclines of the Lelatema Mountains (which are found politically-topographically in the Manyara District, and not in the Arusha Region), around 70 km southeast of the town of Arusha (situated in the Arusha Area), where tanzanite was first found in 1968.

Partitioned into four mining blocks (A, B, C, D) and extra mines,

Tanzanite Rare Gmestones

8. Visit Masai Market Curious Shop

The Arusha Maasai market is a modern display of traditional people’s culture. It sells original African artefacts and has become a melting point for various tradespeople who might not be Maasai by ethnicity, including tourists, in search of genuine African souvenirs.
