Tour Details

Lemosho route is the Lush,fertile and rainforest route of Mt. Kilimanjaro, it considered to be the best & easy route due your chances here of reaching the top are very high, around 90%. the route approach the peak from the west of  the Mountain,  Black and white colobus monkeys are routinely seen in the forests, as are blue monkeys, small lizard and a wide assortment of birds. From there, the path wanders out onto the Shira Plateau, crossing it from west to east on relatively flat and easy to walk terrain.

Itinerary

Day 1Arusha to Londorosi Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp

Pick up from your hotel very early and drive 2 hours up to Londorosi Gate through Arusha – Moshi road, after registration and packing supplies we start our hike along the rainforest trail to Mti Mkubwa Camp where you will have dinner and Overnight

Altitude: 2895m

Day 2Mti Mkubwa camp to Shira 1 Camp

waking up on sunrise and packing before having breakfast, our jorney continue across Shira plateau, we enjoy the view of the Kibo peak as we approach the Shira 1 camp for dinner and overnight,

Hiking Time: 5 – 6 Hrs

Distance: 8Km

Altitude: 3500m

Day 3Shira 1 camp to Shira 2 Camp to Moir Hut

Today is gentle but long walk, as we walk toward the Kibo peak we will get a chance to explore the Shira plateau which is among the highest plateau on Earth, we will have dinner and overnight at Shira 2 Camp.

Hiking Time: 5 – 7 Hrs

Distance: 14Km

Altitude: 4200m

Meals Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 4Moir hut to Barranco Camp

Today we continue to the east toward the peak of Kibo, we will climb up to the base of Lava tower the descend down to barranco camp for dinner and overnight, this can be the the acclimatization day for the preparation to summit.

Hiking Time: 4 – 6 Hrs

Distance: 7Km 

Altitude: 4600m

Meals Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Zone: Desert

 

Day 5Barranco Camp to Barrafu Camp

After breakfast, starting with Barranco wall or Kissing rock as you get a great view of Heim Glacier, this will be another day of up and down, this shorter day means for acclimatization.

Hiking Time: 4 -5 Hrs

Distance: 5Km /3 Miles

Altitude: 4210m

Meals plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 6Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak

Wake up Midnight and warm up with tea. This is the most challenging day of the Mountain. around the stella point, you will be rewarded with the beautiful sunrise coming from Mawenzi peak. Descend in sunlight to Barafu for early lunch, and then walk down to Mweka Camp.

Hiking Time: 11 – 13Hrs

Distance: 15Km /10 Miles

Altitude: 5895m

Meals plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 7Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate to Arusha

Your final day at the Mountain, descend through the lush forest to Mweka Gate where you sign out and pick up the summit certificate. A vehicle will meet us at Mweka Village to drive us back to the hotel in Arusha.

Altitude: 3100m
